"I’m thrilled to share the cover for my forthcoming YA contemporary sports romance, A HEARTBEAT AWAY FROM YOU! Designed by Asterielly Art, the cover image perfectly captures the spirit and romance of Ali and Max’s story. The font in the title is a throwback to the lettering on vintage baseball jerseys, while the cluster of stars surrounding the title represents Max’s love of astronomy. In the background, beneath the shimmering sunset, is the baseball field, the one place Ali has always felt at home. I love how the colors and themes come together to create such a vivid picture!
A HEARTBEAT AWAY FROM YOU features one of my favorite tropes—enemies-to-lovers. I absolutely loved writing about the journey of two people who not only overcome their differences but learn and grow because of those differences. I find those stories incredibly inspiring. After a near-death experience, feisty Ali is determined to make the most of her second chance, and she’s not afraid to take risks to get what she wants. Max, on the other hand, is more cautious and has a tough time letting go of things and moving on. They teach each other so much and connect in ways they never dreamed possible.
This is a story about love and loss, mistakes and growth, and following your heart. Sometimes when we follow our heart, it leads us to amazing things—and people. I hope readers will enjoy Max and Ali’s story as much as I enjoyed writing it."
