Hello and good morning readers! Here we are, fast approaching the end of the first month of 2023. What a ride. Our next release is coming fast but before that happens we are continuing our Author Spotlight series with a little something different. Today we are featuring Lara Buckheit and her upcoming swoon-worthy new adult romantic fantasy A Realm of Ash and Shadow. Realm releases this coming April and Lara's spotlight is here to help build the hype.

If your book was adapted to the screen, would you want to see it as a movie, a limited short series, or something else?
I think a series would do the story more justice. There’s a lot of character development and pining and lusting and tension to really drive an entire season… plus with the way book one ends? It’d set up the second season deliciously.
If you could write a spin off novel for one character in your book, who would it be and why?
Without giving too much away, I’d love to write a little something for Malachi. He’s so fun and flirty and his banter is some of the best! He’d be a great love interest in his own spin-off series a la Once Upon A Broken Heart like Evangeline with Jacks. But this might change as I continue to draft book two because I’m introducing even more fun characters that would thrive in their own stories!
Your characters are dropped into an alternate universe! What AU would you love to see your characters run amok in?
I would die to see Val within the A Court of Thorns and Roses universe. Val, Nesta and Morrigan would likely be fast friends as they talk about how hot everyone is, while Gideon and Malachi would become instant besties with the Bat Boys. Sabel and Elain would garden together with Brini. Mason and Feyre would run their own art gallery. All while Vemdour and Rhys have their own pissing contest over who’s most powerful. It’d be a chaotic mess, and I’d love every single minute of it.

What is your next project? What other works would you like to share?
I’m currently bundled up and drafting the icy sequel to A Realm of Ash and Shadow! I’ve also got a spicy vampire PNR ready to draft after I complete AROAAS2, so we’ll see how much I can draft this year.
